Safety Matches

We are offering here the safety matches that are matches that will only ignite when struck against a specially prepared striking surface like those found on the sides of matchbooks and matchboxes. The safety is derived from the separation of the reactive ingredients between a match head on the end of a paraffin -impregnated splint and the special striking surface (in addition to the safety aspect of replacing the white phosphorus with red phosphorus). Safety matches are still widely used today around the world, including in many developing countries, for such uses as camping, outdoor activities, emergency/survival situations, and stocking homemade survival kits.
